Arnika Dawkins Gallery is thrilled to present an exploration of the notions of beauty, especially that of black beauty. It is said that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and can be subjective; this exhibition aims to celebrate and acknowledge an aesthetic that has been long overlooked in the mainstream. Cultural norms in society change swiftly; this project explores these norms from a black perspective featuring work by Ervin Johnson, Oye Diran, Keris Salmon, Allen Cooley, the Bethencourts.
